Ünpimping Dein Auto

I have long heralded the advent of unpimping (excuse me, ünpimping) -- the natural response to the fad-beyond-fad of pimping -- one's ride. And who better to lead the trend than ze Germans: the masters of stock design.
Americans are too overburdened by their own crap cars, like the Ford Tempo and Geo Metro to name some Pittsburgh favorites, to place the GTI in the car landscape. The typical GTI owner was was, well, just like the men in the first round of "Fast" commercials: budget bad-boys held thrall by a demonic lump of musk, and hanging out in the high school parking lot to replace their too-mature girlfriends.
The GTI hot-hatch culture set up in those spots are knocked down here, where overtricked, unidentifiable lead sleds are unpimped (by the only means possible: destruction) by a white-clad team of "German" de-engineers. I find them more successful because -- well, they're funnier, and are also trying to demolish the old image of the GTI.
But not the belabored image of the rapturously eccentric German. A lot is made of actor Peter Stormare's accent -- not quite Swedish -- but have you heard Helga? The two of them transcend the German stereotype -- beyond nation, they dwell in some corner of the American id. Ridiculous enough that every German I've talked to thinks they're funny. So, the natural question: what Americans stereotypes work in advertising? Are we glib, motormouthed salesmen, like in British ads? Or will Jared from Subway be ünkonigen fast food in the near future?

jaja, I want to meet Helga. The American stereotype is harder to emulate because the country is more diverse in its own understanding of national identity.

Extensive internet searches (not by me, of course: do I come off that fanboy-ish?) have not revealed Helga's identity. I understand there's a lot of non-disclosure with ad agencies.
