Du Bist Der Hai Gesprungen

The new sincerity gives way to the new mockery. I'm tired of people telling me you shouldn't make fun of something because it's easy -- it's fun, too. And you should know that by now anyway -- South Park is currently in its 10th season, and did you hear they're planning a sequel to White Chicks?

Anyways, the Du bist Deutschland campaign was paid a lot of money to make watered-down public service announcements. It got made fun of, and the agency that made them pissed off a lot of people, but in the end, it was just a little embarrassing. Comedy like this is the final nail in the coffin. Look now upon the true id of Deutschland!

The "Du bist Deutschland" campaign was primitve and the slogans were obscene. But what the Blogosphere made out of it was kind of cool. The toilet walls strike back!
