What Words Should We Use?

The EU hands it down: Islamofascism and Araboterror be damned!

Hate speech is getting way out of hand in the West. It's practically all I hear. Arab nations must be cowering in confused heaps, asking "Why? Why do they speak of us so?" But that's not the point, right? I guess the agreement is: we're allowed to reap incredible savings from your pure, plentiful oil, and you're allowed to hate us for it. But only playground hate: these bombings and murders needs to be reined in.

It's like, no one wants to hate on Islam, but why is it Jihad this and Allah delivers death on you that? Most are afraid of the [perceived] violence, not the religion. The US has a religion that people like to get crazy under the auspice of: it's Christianity, and we call them "charismatics" or "fundamentalists." Is it negative to brand someone who bombed an abortion clinic a fundamentalist? Sure, it might be inaccurate, but every religion gets put in the same cart as manipulative, bloodthirsty leaders (and their speech): why does Islam get special privileges? Are they "spiritual" or developmentally stunted? Are we condescending?

The worst offenses in language occur when either party broaches the topic of religion, politicians or terrorists, to justify their causes. Hey: has anyone thought of throwing religion out the window and consider that we are hated worldwide with or without Allah? Sure, Islam -- excuse me, the abuse of Islam -- is a tool used to cultivate that hate, and one that plays a large role. But that hate can be justified quantitatively, without a holy war. And the same goes for our condemnation of anti-Western violence. It's the last argument of kings, but it's also savagery, and we either stand against it or cower in the corner like runty, shivering, sexless mice.
