We Like Blue

IMG-0478.JPG

Why are so many hairdressers in Berlin also nightclubs? The Germans are not the proverbial mud-stickers that so many make them out to be. First, they have their haircuts, and then they have their parties. What better reason to have a party than a new haircut, and what better reason to have a new haircut than a party? A shop which serves two purposes is always a wonderful thing. Like a greengrocers that offers internet access. And why are all cobblers also key-cutters anyway? In Berlin there are many more of these combinations than other cities.

I always liked those nightclubs the best that combined the dancing with something else - mainly because I didn't like nightclubs. There was one place I particularly enjoyed back in my younger times where you could get chips with cheese sauce on in a room at the side. Cheesey chips, they were called. I thought this a marvellous idea, because it combined all the evening's disappointments, and by lining your stomach with cheese, you could prolong your slow death.
