The EU Is For Fascists

What the hell is the point of EU? Can someone please clear up this goddamn conundrum for me? Who wants Europe to centralise - you know who wanted to centralise Europe a lot? Yeah, that's right, some German and Italian comrades in the 30's. No actual citizens want a centralised European state. Why does everyone want everything to be like America? Americans don't want things to be like America - they hate big government. If it was up to them, the American people would separate the nation into states, which they like better, and only meet up for Thanksgiving.

Anyway, here's the latest Orwellian fix drawn up by the Thought Police - a euro-curriculum where every kid learns the SAME THING. Britain's shadow education minister calls it "terrifying." This is what it consists of:

* communication in the mother tongue
* communication in foreign languages
* mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology
* digital competence (use of computers)
* learning to learn
* social and civic competences
* entrepreneurship
* cultural expression (including an understanding of the cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe).

Why don't we all just plug ourselves into the swastika-shaped mainframe right now?

Oh, my f.... God, learn how to communicate in your own language AND in another.Social and civic competences, what the fuck?
These Mother..... NAZIS!!!!
Isn't the whole thing about not to be like America?!

My guess is that these new policies, when adopted, will not actually do anything to improve Europe's worst schools.

And the good schools in European countries are already doing all those things.

It's ridiculous when governments try to change problems in education (especially across an entity as gigantic as the EU) for tens of millions of kids by writing a few new laws. It's a joke, really. Improving education is superbly expensive -- more than putting a man on the moon, hosting a Weltmeisterschaft, or overthrowing a regime in the Mideast.

Ben, stop showing off with these attention-seeking headlines, OK? Comparing everything to the Nazis is very tedious.
