The Light-Hearted Side Of Nazism

Here is a picture of a cat that looks like Hitler, and here is the website it comes from. You might think this is a frivolous and rather tasteless idea, but in fact I believe there is a serious point here. Not often do you see animals that resemble fascists, and one often wonders if it could happen more often. These cute Kitlers may very well not be as murderous as the original, but they definitely have a menacing glint in their little eyes, and if Art Spiegelmann has anything to say, if a Nazi were an animal it would definitely be a cat. Cats are evil unlike other animals.
This website represents a living allegory of the evil in the human race, and rarely do we see such allegories brought to us with such wit and effectiveness. The site may seem foolish, but it presides over a strange beauty.

Cats appear in George Orwell's Animal Farm. They don't appear to be major players in the tyrannical regime that the pigs (and to some degree the dogs) eventually preside over, but I hypothesize that in the allegory of Animal Farm the cats represent organized crime. What do you think?

A very good point - they definitely have a malicious streak to them in the general imagination. Was Al Capone ever pictured as a cat.
Perhaps they can represent capitalism too - the fat cats of corporate greed?
