US Embassy says Amis in Germany should be careful

The US Diplomatic Mission to Germany (aka Embassy) -- in what some might say is if anything consistent with its stateside tact of urging caution first and informing later -- has posted a Warden Message on its website encouraging US nationals in Germany to "increase their vigilance and take appropriate steps to bolster their own personal security" due to a heightened threat situation from, alternatively, an Islamist Kurdish group and/or Iraqi group Ansar al-Sunna. The German Interior Ministry told the Associated Press that there were indications that United States buildings in southern Germany have been targeted however refused to give further details. Nonetheless, undefined the threat may be, German security forces are duly increasing their presence at US facilities.

Sounds like people protecting their jobs -- if a disco gets blown up with yankee tourists in it, the diplomats can say, "Ha! We told you so."
