Stauffenberg Now Linked to Scientology

That’s right, in a historic twist of irony, Tom Cruise will play the most prominent figure in the German resistance against Hitler: Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg in Bryan Singer’s new film Valkryrie.

This is a slap in the face towards all Democrats, all resistance fighters in the Third Reich, all victims of Scientology…Stauffenberg was willing to die in the fight against suppression and authoritarian regimes. And of all people, Cruise, whose organization works with dubious methods to win over new members and makes people financially dependent.

Benneter, the Social Democrat criticized the silence in the German media. He’s got a point, but questioning the integrity of the film because Cruise is strongly involved with Scientology is far fetched. I’d strongly encourage everyone to question their methods and shed more light into the public eye though. And of course Germans are more concerned about Hubbard followers than Americans after some track record with suppression and deceit: see facism and communism.

But real estate investors in Berlin are happy about Cruise and Holmes looking for another home from home, although they’re not as popular as Jolie and Pitt, who also bought bricks in Germany’s capital. It’s still an up and coming metropolis with structural challenges and somewhat of a hidden gem, still. But let’s hope Singer gets his Europe “where history is from” facts straight in Valkryrie and Stauffenberg’s courage will travel beyond German borders.
