Last night in Cologne, pop music's reigning beatmeister, Tim Mosley aka Timbaland, sent a German (or Croatian) man to the hospital. The scuffle happened at about 11:30 pm following a concert by Justin Timberlake (who, thanks in large part to Timbo, is half-way cool now) outside the Hotel Intercontinental. The producer was at the hotel bar speaking to a woman, whose boyfriend, a man identified as Robert F., apparently either (1) became jealous or (2) thought he was just repeating some slang he had heard in a rap song (some surmise) and called Timbaland the "N word", provoking said smackdown. Timbo was arrested by German police, released early this morning on 750€ bail and, at last report, is still under investigation.
