Sling That American Slang

sz-quiz.jpg

Does it signal a warming in German-American relations that the Süddeutsche Zeitung is running a 20-question American Slang Quiz. Well, probably not, but we'll grasp at what we can get, we embattled trans-Atlanticists, so eager to see renewed engagement with each other beyond affirming a common belief in stomping out copyright infringment and terrorist splinter cells. And we even get to see a real American cowgirl, to German eyes. Points are calculated by multiple-choice correctness and quickness to answer.

Typical question: a "pain in the neck" doesn't mean anything good but rather?
* "Ich habe fürchterliche Nackenschmerzen!"
* "Das kostet was!"
* "Es ist total ärgerlich!"

Your (American) correspondent's score:
Richtige Antworten: 19
verbrauchte Zeit: 02:48 Minuten
erreichte Punktzahl: 15.166.250

Clearly I'm having the reverse language problem here (einen Happen essen?), hence one question missed. Dang blast it, great leaping horny toads! via RFM
