Call for Sustainable Democracy

Naomi Wolf warns in a speech at the University of Washington in Seattle while referring to her book about "The End of America." Wolf said she wrote the book for a young and old person, one being a Holocaust survivor. When they discussed current news events together, the survivor would say that they did this in early 1930s Germany. She adds that Riefenstahl was an early embedded journalist and Goebbels knew how to abuse the term "Heimat." Ever heard of Homeland Security or embedded journalists? How about the burning of Dixie Chicks CDs?

In her research she found a blueprint of ten step tactics dictators implement to close down democracies, which include:

invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy, create a gulag, develop a thug caste, set up an internal surveillance system, harass citizens' groups, engage in arbitrary detention and release, target key individuals, control the press, dissent equals treason and suspend the rule of law.

She says she wrote the book to inspire young people to combat this trend and to restore democracy in the United States asap and to inform people what it means to sustain a democracy.
