Bertelsmann Wants Harper Collins

Murdoch says nish nish. Bertelsmann wants it. We're getting mixed signals here. According to Manager Magazin, they're chatting with Harper Collins and additionally want to shed their Gruner & Jahr shares. It's part of Ostrowski's five year plan, who starts as head honcho on January 1, 2008 and has €7 billion ready for new business. He's also looking to clean up Columbia House, the CD and book shipper way past its golden nineties. Supposedly the Gütersloh-based company's future focus will be on education, the infamous services and web.
