SpeedyConKiwi's German Lessons

By 2050, Manhattenite kids will grow up speaking Chinese and Spanish. English will be spoken only in the sciences and during occasional diplomatic affairs. German will be a mix of Turkish, Dutch and some distant Belgian crossover.

Due to the influx of language hybrids, kind of like picking the best from Buddhism and Islam, learning a language today hasn't been easier. And it's the SpeedyConKiwi's of the world that communicate with digital natives and make it personal. Monologue is a thing of the past.

2050 - german won't have any turkish influx, because there is not much converstation between turkish and german people, but english will take more and more of the german vocabulary away.
and you dont have to wait for 2050. It starts already. there is not a single commercial on TV without an english word like e.g. fresh, light, flatrate and many more.
If you ask a 16 y.o. german what an entertainer or an event is he can explain it but he will not know the german word for it. there are also a lot of hybrid words like Backshop (bakery-shop)or Powerpreise (power-prices.

It's sad to see the influx of English words in the German language, since most German words are much more precise. Albeit, I am seeing Tokio Hotel and SpeedyConKiwi reaching out to teens and creating new interest in the German language.
