The Boat Party

The Boat Party is this Wednesday (March 5th) on the ship Eastern Comfort. This is the weekly party on the Spree known for its friendly, casual atmosphere where it's easy to meet and talk with people in a variety of languages. As host, I help with arranging language tandem partners--it's best to arrive early for that. Entry is one euro and the party starts 7pm with the famous 5-star hummus.
I remember last week speaking with persons from Yemen, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, France, England, Australia, US, Germany, Canada,Brazil, Italy, Bosnia/Denmark, Austria, Greece and Russia. At one point people from Iraq sat on either side of me and someone said, "Now you're cornered!" To offer a better idea of the party, it included people who had fled from wars, someone from the Bundestag, someone from the disarmament Ministerium, computer science students with glasses, people from the film and music industries, beautiful women, French men, artists and at least two people overtly in love, possibly four.
From the starboard rail,
